June 21st a few Plateau Corvette Club members gathered together to take on the Triangle and experience the “ride we wouldn’t soon forget”, the skies were cloudy and gray with a few drops of rain falling. The group consisted of just 4 Plateau Corvette Club members in 2 cars. After they headed out, the rain soon stopped and they enjoyed partly sunny skies as they hit the curves on their way to the Warden’s Table at Brushy Mountain for lunch. The food was delicious and filling, conversation among friends was interesting and engaging. After lunch you could feel anticipation in the air as they headed to their vehicles. Once inside their cars, they buckled up the seat belts, revved the engines and made a leisurely exit from the parking lot, turning left on Hwy 116 to begin their mission of “Tamin‘ the Triangle!” Although they have driven the route several times, each experience along the highway with its tight switchbacks and big sweeping curves is equally as thrilling as their first adrenaline adventure along the route. After the Triangle, they continued on their way to the next stop……ICE CREAM – of course! They stopped at the Sunrise Dairy in Crossville and it was delicious! We will definitely be back there!
Thank you Jerry and Marsha for putting together and hosting this drive! and Kathy for the photos and the write up..
