Some days are just meant for chasing sunshine, smooth pavement, and spontaneous joy—and July 30th was one of those days! Our Corvette crew rolled out for a “Pop-Up Flash Ride,” meeting at 12:15 p.m. in Monterey—our latest launch time ever!
We had 8 Corvettes and 16 members ready to roll, and as always, we didn’t take the direct route. We followed “Roger’s Route,” winding through scenic back roads that offered curve therapy, adrenaline, and plenty of laughter.
A quick and friendly pit stop at Sammy’s gave us a chance to stretch and refresh, before cruising through Granville—Tennessee’s very own Mayberry Town. With its storybook charm and nostalgic vibe, Granville was the perfect backdrop for our ride.

Our ultimate destination? The Ugly Mug Bar & Grill in Spencer, TN—and wow, what a treat! The food was absolutely awesome (highly recommend the BEAST burger and buffalo chicken sandwich), and the atmosphere was outstanding. With cozy indoor and outdoor seating, fire pits, live music, and a warm, welcoming vibe, it’s a place we’ll definitely be visiting again. Pro tip: If you visit, don’t forget to check out the sayings on the bathroom walls—they’re quirky, clever, and totally part of the experience!Huge thanks to Roger for putting this ride together, and to everyone who came out to share in the joy of the day, the thrill of the curves, and the making of wonderful memories. Special thanks to Kathy for capturing the fun with photos that bring the ride to life all over again! If you missed this ride, you missed a great time with friends—but don’t worry, the next one is right around the corner, and we’d love to have you join us! Here’s to more pop-up joyrides, backroad bliss, and memories made at full throttle.
