Plateau Corvette Club

Saturday, April 25th gave us a Pop‑Up Event to remember! 

Nine members in five Corvettes rolled out to join the Second Annual XtraOrdinary Popcorn Poker Run — a ride supporting a nonprofit that provides meaningful employment and life‑building opportunities for adults with disabilities. It’s a mission our club is proud to stand behind.

We kicked off the poker run at Drake’s in Cookeville, where the excitement started early thanks to a full multi‑agency police escort. Officers from the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, White County Sheriff’s Office, and Cookeville Police Department came together to lead the ride — lights flashing, sirens clearing the way, and intersections secured as we moved through town. At times, the escort even had us cruising down the opposite side of the road to keep the caravan together. It was unforgettable, and we are deeply grateful for the teamwork and support that made the ride safe, smooth, and absolutely thrilling.

Between the official stops, our little group of five Corvettes took advantage of the open stretches to enjoy some scenic, spirited driving — the kind of roads that remind us why we love doing what we do.

Despite a few scattered showers, the weather cleared and the community showed up strong. Thanks to the incredible turnout, the event raised $2,175 for XtraOrdinary Popcorn — every dollar helping support adults with disabilities through real employment, confidence‑building, and purpose.

We want to extend a heartfelt thank‑you to everyone who helped put this Poker Run together, and a special shout‑out to @1938Social for hosting and pouring so much heart into this event. Their dedication — along with the generosity of the community — is what made the day such a success.

And on the way home, the sky gifted us a beautiful rainbow — a perfect ending to a perfect day!!!
