On May 16th, our Corvette family showed up in full force — 29 members strong, cruising in 14 gorgeous Corvettes (and one faithful steel car!) — for the once‑a‑year Spring Blossom Train Ride, benefiting the Watauga Valley Railroad Museum.
Our caravan went gliding down those great Tennessee roads in formation, sunshine bouncing off the hoods, people waving, smiling, and snapping pictures as we passed. It was one of those “stop and soak it in” moments that reminds you just how special this group really is.

Once we arrived in Delano, we boarded our 1946 vintage coach car for a 4.5‑hour, 50‑mile scenic journey through the breathtaking Hiwassee River Gorge. The views were unreal — sweeping river bends, forested mountainsides, historic bridges, and of course the famous Hiwassee Loop, where the train spirals and crosses over itself. With our picnic lunches, good company, and that relaxed, unhurried pace… it felt like stepping back in time in the very best way.
After the ride, we headed to Gondolier Pizza & Steak House in Athens, and let me tell you — they treated us like royalty. The service was warm and over‑the‑top wonderful, and every meal came out hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. Laughter filled the room, stories were shared, and the fellowship was just… perfect.
Then, as the sun dipped low, we caravanned home together through Tennessee’s hills, curves, and hollers — the perfect ending to a day overflowing with friendship, fun, and memories we’ll be talking about for a long time.
