September 26th was a day for Cards, Curves, and Coming Together for Gary Harris
Last Saturday, members of the Plateau Corvette Club had the honor of participating in the Benefit Poker Run for Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Detective Gary Harris.
Our club was proud to be represented by 9 Corvettes and 17 members, all coming together for a great cause!!
The event featured a silent auction, and several of our members went home as lucky winners with some fantastic items. But the true highlight of the day wasn’t what people took home… it was what they gave back.
In a moment that perfectly embodied the spirit of the event, our own Richard Holt set the standard by winning the prize for the Worst Poker Hand and immediately donating his winnings back to Detective Gary Harris.
His generosity inspired others, and before long, both the 2nd Place Poker Hand Winner and the 1st Place Poker Hand Winner followed suit, donating their prize money back as well.
Those moments remind us what events like this are really about. It’s not about winning. It’s not about the cards. It’s about neighbors helping neighbors, friends helping friends, and a community coming together to lift up one of its own.
We truly live in a community that cares, and we were honored to be a small part of it!
