• John and Reggie Leppien hosted a Tennessee back roads pop-up ride for club members on Wednesday September 3rd, 2025. The group of four Corvettes faithfully followed John and Reggie over rolling hills and sweeping corners, as they found their way down the road from Crossville to Westel. Passing the home of the new Flatrock Motorsports Park, the journey continued north to the town of Wartburg.  The caravan continued west to Clarkrange on what I can only imagine was following a wonderful section of Tennessee Route-68. The lunch stop on this journey was at Embers Grill in Clarkrange.

  • On September 1st, 2025, we had a wonderful turnout from club members to attend the 10th Annual Labor Day Cruise-in at the Netherland Church of Christ. The club ride to the show was organized by Les and Kelly Rhoades. We had eight Corvettes and fifteen club members in attendance. The morning started out a little bit overcast with some glimpses of blue skies, which gave us hope for the day.  Unfortunately, shortly after leaving our stating point on the drive from Monterey to Rickman, we drove into some light rain. Luckly, the last few miles of the drive was dry, so the cars had enough time to mostly dry off. A minor meteorological event met with positive attitudes. The show parking lot was packed with classic cars and trucks, along with some more modern Corvette horsepower. Our ears were treated to some great authentic bluegrass music from the band, “Conspiracy to Kill a Possum”. A big thanks to Gary and Jan Edwards for bringing some snacks to share. Jan’s Charcuterie board which was covered with crackers, sausage and cheese and apple slices was a big hit. Also, several of the members enjoyed a free hotdog and soda offered by the church. The church members treat everyone with gracious respect and even came over to our group and thanked us for attending the show. After the show, we drove to the town Livingston for lunch at The Steel Coop restaurant.

After arriving at the park, they enjoyed a relaxing lunch picnicking with their friends.  After the picnic the ride continued heading to Dunlop Coke Ovens & Museum in Dunlop.  The Museum admission was free.  Following the Museum, they headed back home continue riding the backroads of Tennessee.

  • Some days are just meant for chasing sunshine, smooth pavement, and spontaneous joy—and July 30th was one of those days! Our Corvette crew rolled out for a “Pop-Up Flash Ride,” meeting at 12:15 p.m. in Monterey—our latest launch time ever!
We had 8 Corvettes and 16 members ready to roll, and as always, we didn’t take the direct route. We followed “Roger’s Route,” winding through scenic back roads that offered curve therapy, adrenaline, and plenty of laughter.
A quick and friendly pit stop at Sammy’s gave us a chance to stretch and refresh, before cruising through Granville—Tennessee’s very own Mayberry Town. With its storybook charm and nostalgic vibe, Granville was the perfect backdrop for our ride.

Our ultimate destination? The Ugly Mug Bar & Grill in Spencer, TN—and wow, what a treat! The food was absolutely awesome (highly recommend the BEAST burger and buffalo chicken sandwich), and the atmosphere was outstanding. With cozy indoor and outdoor seating, fire pits, live music, and a warm, welcoming vibe, it’s a place we’ll definitely be visiting again. Pro tip: If you visit, don’t forget to check out the sayings on the bathroom walls—they’re quirky, clever, and totally part of the experience!Huge thanks to Roger for putting this ride together, and to everyone who came out to share in the joy of the day, the thrill of the curves, and the making of wonderful memories. Special thanks to Kathy for capturing the fun with photos that bring the ride to life all over again! If you missed this ride, you missed a great time with friends—but don’t worry, the next one is right around the corner, and we’d love to have you join us! Here’s to more pop-up joyrides, backroad bliss, and memories made at full throttle.

  • Saturday, July 26th: A Rain-or-Shine Rendezvous with the Road! After weeks of playing weather roulette, 12 Corvettes and 24 members of the Plateau Corvette Club decided enough was enough—it was time to hit the road, forecast be darned! With windshield wipers at the ready and hearts set on adventure, we gathered under a brilliant Tennessee sun for our driver’s meeting, buzzing with anticipation for some much-needed curve therapy and camaraderie. Our route through Hickory Valley was nothing short of a scenic symphony. The winding roads rolled out like a welcome mat, inviting us to cruise through nature’s finest gallery. We crossed four breathtaking bodies of water—Calf Killer River, Caney Fork River, Stones River, and the shimmering Center Hill Lake—each one adding its own splash of magic to the journey. Tennessee was showing off in full summer bloom: wildflowers swayed like dancers in the breeze, rustic barns and proud silos stood as timeless sentinels, and the mountains painted the horizon with hues that felt almost divine. It was a feast for the senses, a soul-refreshing escape wrapped in horsepower and laughter.

Just as the curves began to tease us with extra Corvette-style thrills, Mother Nature chimed in with a surprise rain shower—her gentle reminder that spontaneity is part of the fun. But spirits stayed high and smiles stayed wide as we rolled into Honky Tonk National Golf Course, where Southern hospitality greeted us with open arms. Lunch was delicious, the company unforgettable, and the owner’s generous surprise—our choice of beverage or a decadent dessert— was the cherry on top of an already sweet day. From the first rev to the final toast, it was a day stitched together with laughter, beauty, and the kind of memories that make you count down to the next ride. Rain or shine, we’ll be back—and we’ll be rolling in style. Many thanks to those to came out and enjoyed the day with us! If you weren’t able to join us, know that you were missed and we hope that you can make the next one! Thanks to Cindy, Sharon and Kathy for the photos!

  • Day at the racetrack recap…On Friday, July 26, six bold drivers in seven glistening Corvettes gathered together at our meeting spot for a “Launch Control 101” session; part science, part adrenaline, and entirely Corvette. Les offered  careful, conscientious guidance on mastering the “art of the launch“, and Kelly worked her magic behind the lens, capturing all the tire-melting, smile-inducing moments.️After the learning session, the group caravanned together to Fitzgerald Motorsports Park in Crossville, where the real fun began. That’s where the group put their newly mastered skills to the test – and test they did, with grit, gusto, and grinning G forces, multiple times along the track.

It was fast and friendly: Corvette Edition6 Drivers7 Corvettes1 Hands-On Launch Control Bootcamp1 Talented photographer6 spectators, with ringside views100+ laughs, cheers, and “Did you see that?!” Moments…. A HUGE “THANKS” goes out to Les and Kelly – for hosting, coaching, and capturing the Joy!  Thanks also to everyone who came out to learn, launch, and “light up the track”. If you felt the earth rumble, it wasn’t and earthquake – it was just our members, full throttling it down the track!
