Plateau Corvette Club members took a scenic drive to Falls Creek Falls State Park. Fall Creek Falls State Park is one of Tennessee’s largest and most visited state parks. The park encompasses more than 29,800 acres sprawled across the eastern top of the rugged Cumberland Plateau. They then continue on to Dunlap TN to have lunch at the Cookie Jar Café. The Cookie Jar is a little slice of heaven and is on an operational dairy farm that’s been in the family for over 150 years! If you visit at the right time, you might just see the cows heading to the barn. It is one of the most beautiful farms in the Sequatchie Valley.

Tuesday June 13th Plateau Corvette Club members took a driving adventure to picnic at the Savage Cliff Park. The weather was beautiful, the drive and the curves were awesome – it was a perfect day for a picnic in the park! Savage Gulf State Park is located in Grundy and Sequatchie counties, and is the newest state park in Tennessee, bringing the total of Tennessee’s state parks to 57.

On Wednesday, June 7th,  15 Plateau Corvette Club Members in 8 Corvettes met for a drive n dine to the City Café in Cleveland, Tennessee.  They cruised over the Deep Draw Stone Arch Bridge, a sandstone arch bridge built in 1938. It is one of the oldest surviving bridges of this type in the area and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Once over the bridge, they cruised the curves on their way to the sight of the 1996 Olympic White Water Event held on Ocoee River in Ducktown, Tennessee. The event held here was the only Olympic Event ever held in Tennessee and the only Olympic event EVER held on a natural river. After they checked out the area, they headed down the road to the City Café for lunch. It was hard to choose one thing due to the large menu they have. Everything was delicious and filling. Two of our members couldn’t resist trying the Key Lime Pie and the Coconut Cream Pie. (their cakes and pies are delicious!), After lunch, they headed on down the road towards home. As always, it was a fantastic day together hitting the curves and enjoying comradery and friendship.

On June 6th The Plateau Corvette Club Ladies members had a “Ladies Only Fun Day”, an impromptu event for the ladies only!! They traveled to the Crossville Salt Cave “SALT OF THE EARTH” where they had the option to choose Halotherapy which is a fancy word for 45 minutes of sitting in the salt cave, the Infrared Sauna Wrap where you will sweat away calories and toxins, or the Ionic Foot Detox to cleanses your body of toxins.

For lunch they drove to the Grinder House and Coffee Shop on Main Street for a “ladies only” luncheon.

After lunch, a few of the ladies left for home and some of us headed next door for a little “retail therapy”.  It was a great way to spend time together!

On Wednesday, May 31st, Plateau Corvette Club Members Jerry & Marsha hosted a cruise to Hog Wild BBQ in Tompkinsville, Kentucky. Four Corvettes carrying 8 members met up at the Shell Station in Monterey on a picture perfect day to head out and get some curve therapy! Jerry told us at the driver’s meeting that he’d picked out the curviest roads that he could find on the route he put together to travel there and back, and let me tell you he wasn’t kidding! Beautiful roads (even some roads that we’d never been on before) with big sweeping curves made up the majority of this route, which was very scenic too. Everyone had a fantastic time and enjoyed the friendship and comradery that goes along with getting out and having fun together!

The restaurant was busy (and very good too)!

The day ended in Cookeville with ice cream at Cream City! Enjoy the photos! Thank you to Jerry & Marsha for putting this great day together!

June 2nd several Plateau Corvette Club members took a slow , careful, scenic drive for those with “OLD CARS” to Lilly Bluff Park where they took a short hike to the Bluff Overlook, then off to Brushy Mountain Prison Wardens Table for lunch in a prison cell.

Saturday May 27th there was also the Downtown Crossville Cruise In on Main Street. A few club members also attended this show to make it a double header for car shows that weekend.

Saturday May 27th Plateau Corvette Club members attended the Lake Tansi Memorial Day car show. There were crafters, vendors, bounce house for the kiddos and yummy food! Great weather with plenty of shade trees to relax under.

May 24th ,2023 several Plateau Corvette Club members drove to Historic Granville Tennessee that is often referred to as ” Tennessee’s Mayberry Town. Their visit started at the 1880 Sutton General Store where they enjoyed a good old fashion lunch. After lunch they began touring Granville’s Historic Home featuring Steamboat days of Granville, the Pioneer Village, Antique Car Museum, Flower Garden, Crops and Blacksmith, Basket Shop, Grist Mill, Loom Shop, Broom Shop and Woodworking. Then took self tours of Mayberry Lucy Museum, Granville Whiskey Decanter Museum (Worlds’ Largest Decanter Museum with over 5,000 Decanters, 75 of which are Corvette Decanters), Whistle Stop Saloon & Ice Cream Parlor Museum, Clemons Car Museum, Daniels Barber Shop & Post Office Museum, Memory Lane, Granville Museum with special exhibits on Steamboats, The Farm to Table Museum, Tennessee Quilt Museum, and the Granville Broom Shop.

Sunday May 21 Plateau Corvette Club Members enjoyed their annual spring picnic at the Cumberland Mountain State Park. Food was pot luck with all members bring their favorite food or desert. The weather was great and a Corn Hole tournament was held after lunch. Congratulations to Cindy and Coy who were crowned Cornhole Champs!
