On October 16-17, a group of Plateau Corvette Club members traveled to Charlotte, North Carolina, for the Queen City Corvette Club’s Corvette Show held at the world-famous Rick Hendrick Chevrolet and Racing Complex.
A special thank you to Dan and Claudia Manring for hosting this fun overnight adventure and giving our members another opportunity to hit the road together in pursuit of great cars, great memories, and great friends.
The trip was much more than just a car show. Members took the scenic route to the Charlotte area and made a stop at the impressive Memory Lane Museum in Mooresville, where they enjoyed everything from Model T’s and Model A’s to vintage NASCAR race cars, quarter midgets, pedal cars, tractors, and even some unique pieces of racing history.

One of the highlights of the weekend was a guided tour of Rick Hendrick’s private Heritage Collection, an extraordinary collection that is not open to the public and can only be viewed by invitation or special group tour. Although cameras were not permitted inside, everyone agreed it was a truly unforgettable experience filled with some of the most remarkable automobiles many had ever seen.
The following day, members attended the Queen City Corvette Club’s Corvette-only show on the grounds of the Rick Hendrick Racing campus. Surrounded by race shops, championship-winning history, and hundreds of beautiful Corvettes, it was a dream destination for any automotive enthusiast.
As much as we enjoyed the cars and attractions, some of the best memories came from spending time together, traveling the back roads, sharing meals, and supporting another Corvette club’s event. That’s one of the things that makes the Corvette community so special.
Thank you to the Queen City Corvette Club for hosting a wonderful event, and thank you again to Dan and Claudia Manring for organizing a fantastic weekend getaway for our members.
Enjoy a few photos from the trip (many thanks to Claudia and Sharon for the photos) and imagine the ones we couldn’t take inside the Heritage Collection!
