• Members gathered on Tuesday, December 19th to take part in one of our “coolest” rides ever (as in temperature) – leave time was so cold we didn’t get out of the cars for a driver’s meeting and we took our group shot from the cars!!!

We stopped and dropped one of our annual charity checks to Hilltoppers (they were very thankful and excited to be one of our “charity recipients” for this year!)

Then our group headed down to Monkeytown Brewing Company in Dayton for a delicious lunch which was enjoyed by all.  Afterwards, we enjoyed the thrill of some curvy scenic Tennessee backroads, stopping for ice cream at McDonalds on the way back home.  It was a fun day spreading holiday cheer, sharing good times and creating wonderful memories together!

Thanks to Roger and Kathy for leading and the photos!!

  • December 16th Plateau Corvette Club members participated in the National Wreaths Across America Day by attending the ceremony at the Cookeville Courthouse and then traveling to Crestlawn Cemetery where they volunteered to lay wreaths on Veteran’s graves. During this process, they were asked and encouraged to say the name of the Veteran aloud as they placed the wreath on his or her grave, thank them for their service and sacrifice, and lastly, to reflect on that person and their life. It was truly an emotional experience.

REMEMBER the Fallen. . . HONOR those who Serve. . . TEACH our children the value of Freedom.

Thanks to Roger and Kathy for leading and Mike (Murf) for suggesting the event

  • The sun was shining brightly when 10 members in 5 Corvettes gathered together at the Shell in Monterey for a Pop Up Driving Event, “Let’s get together, get out, drive and smile”  and smile they did.  For a December day, the weather was beautiful – a little cool in the am, but the day warmed up enough for convertible tops to come down and some “sunshine soaking up” to begin.  The Tennessee back roads didn’t disappoint – long and winding, smooth and scenic – made for an unforgettable day behind the wheel.  We stopped for a break at the Wolf Creek Dam at Lake Cumberland before heading to lunch at the State Park Resort in Kentucky, where we enjoyed “lunch with a water view” (to quote Les).  On the way back, we stopped at Dairy Queen for a little “ice cream therapy” before splitting up and heading for home.

Thanks to Roger and Kathy for leading! Thanks Kathy for the photos!

  • Plateau Corvette Club members enjoyed a nice drive down to Chattanooga Tennessee to visit the Coker Tire Museum. Nestled conveniently in the heart of Chattanooga’s Historic Southside, the red brick building wraps you in its turn-of-the-century arms the moment you see it. Since 1948 this has been the home of Honest Charley’s, the world’s first mail order speed shop. The museum has a large collection of Vintage Cars, Trucks and Motorcycle’s. After a tour of the museum they drove to the Boathouse Rotisserie and Raw Bar for lunch.

Thanks to Roger and Kathy for leading, Thanks to Connie and Les for the photos!

  • November 7th Plateau Corvette Club members took a scenic drive to Lilly Bluff Park and took a short hike to the Beautiful Overlook with full fall colors in bloom. Weather was perfect for a fun drive. They then continued on to Cookeville where they had lunch at Spankies.

Thanks to John and Reggie for a fun drive, Thanks to Kathy and Connie for the great photos.
