At the April 4 , 2024 meeting Plateau Corvette Club members presented a plaque to our Club Founder and Charter President Coy Watson for starting the Plateau Corvette Club, and to his wife Kathy for her dedication and support of the club. Coy and Kathy are moving from the Crossville area and will be missed. In 2011 Coy had noticed a great number of Corvettes in the Fairfield Glade area and decided to try and start a club in Crossville. On November 3rd 2011 he gathered a group of Corvette owners at Dave Kirk Automotive to see if a club would be supported. To his surprise he had a large group show up, and today we have 140 members. Thank You Coy and Kathy!!

The day started out a little chilly and cloudy, but ended up with beautiful sunny skies, and nice temps. Ten of our members showed up, despite the clouds and cold – some to drive on the dragstrip and some to just cheer our drivers on. It was a really fun day!! Many thanks to Les & Kelly for setting this up for our members to enjoy! After the dragstrip, they headed for lunch and then ended the day with ice cream of course! Stay tuned, I hear that there are more fun days at the dragstrip in our PCC future.

The Plateau Corvette Club visited the National Corvette Museum on Monday, March 18th, 2024! After lunch at the Sting Ray Grille in the museum, club members joined a “SPECIAL DELIVERY” by our “expectant” members, John & Reggie as they invited us to come along while they take delivery of their brand new “BABY”.

March 16 Plateau Corvette Club members attended the St. Patrick’s day Party with a PURPOSE! it was a fundraiser to support Cumberland County’s school age children in need with sneakers, backpacks, school supplies and haircuts. “WE ARE ONE” is a local non-profit, made up of all volunteers benefiting our neighbors and children.

Thursday, February 15th, nine of our club members in 5 Corvettes met together under beautiful sunny skies in Monterey for their group adventure through the scenic heart of Tennessee and Kentucky, enroute to their lunch destination at the Lighthouse Restaurant, in historic Sulphur Well, Kentucky. Once they entered Kentucky, they headed for a planned out detour spot – the Old Mulkey Meeting House State Historic Site. It’s the oldest freestanding log church (“meeting house”) in Kentucky, built in 1804 a during a period of religious revival. For lunch, they headed to their destination, The Lighthouse Restaurant – a beacon of good taste!

Valentine’s Day 2024 began for 24 of our members in 12 Corvettes meeting together at the Brass Lantern and headed out for an easy, short scenic route, along backroads of Cumberland County enroute to Fortes’ Restaurant for our Annual Valentine’s Day Drive N Dine. Members who weren’t able to meet up at the Brass Lantern joined the group at Fortes. 42 Plateau Corvette Club members took advantage of the beautiful day to wine and dine together with our sweethearts and fellow Plateau Corvette Club Members.

A very special “THANK YOU” to John & Reggie, not only for their hard work in planning, organizing and leading this event, but a big thanks for the beautiful roses they surprised our ladies with!

If you missed Thursdays club ride, you missed a great poker run and lunch adventure. They started in Crossville and ventured South on the wonderful twisting route 30 to Spencer and then continued on more scenic roads to Manchester. They ate a fantastic home cooked lunch at the Mercantile Cafe. This restaurant was featured on the television show “Tennessee Crossroads”.
After lunch they finished the poker game while visiting the Old Stone Fort State Park. Our new club member Stephen was the winner. There is some great Tennessee history at the park and some great walking trails to explore and see some waterfalls. See you on the next adventure.

February 2nd several Plateau Corvette Club members braved the cold and took a run to the mountains to chase the Dragon. Later they stopped at the Tapoco Lodge for lunch in North Carolina. The weather was good all along the ride, mid 50’s, no rain.

On Thursday, January 11th, 2024 under bright sunny skies (and temperatures that topped off at 58 degrees – warm enough for “top down” of course) 14 members and guests gathered together to kick off our 2024 driving season with a scenic, curvy Tennessee “back roads drive” to the restaurant at Fall Creek Falls for lunch. The ride included scenic stops at both the boat ramp overlook at Center Hill Dam and a stop at Rock Island’s Great Falls where we viewed both the Great Falls and the Twin Falls
