• Friday, December 15th Plateau Corvette Club members met at the Brass Lantern in Crossville for the Last Minute “Flash-Dash” Ugly Christmas Sweater Optional & Steel Car Optional “sleigh ride”
Corvette Style! This may be last ride of the year with The Plateau Corvette Club. They drove to the Lakeside Tavern in Knoxville for lunch with a stop at Roosevelt Mountain first then a stop at Mister Twister for ice cream after lunch. Lots of curves and twist along the way. Great friends to ride with.

Thanks to Roger and Kathy for leading and Neil for the photos!!

  • The sun was shining brightly when 10 members in 5 Corvettes gathered together at the Shell in Monterey for a Pop Up Driving Event, “Let’s get together, get out, drive and smile”  and smile they did.  For a December day, the weather was beautiful – a little cool in the am, but the day warmed up enough for convertible tops to come down and some “sunshine soaking up” to begin.  The Tennessee back roads didn’t disappoint – long and winding, smooth and scenic – made for an unforgettable day behind the wheel.  We stopped for a break at the Wolf Creek Dam at Lake Cumberland before heading to lunch at the State Park Resort in Kentucky, where we enjoyed “lunch with a water view” (to quote Les).  On the way back, we stopped at Dairy Queen for a little “ice cream therapy” before splitting up and heading for home.

Thanks to Roger and Kathy for leading! Thanks Kathy for the photos!

  • Plateau Corvette Club members enjoyed a nice drive down to Chattanooga Tennessee to visit the Coker Tire Museum. Nestled conveniently in the heart of Chattanooga’s Historic Southside, the red brick building wraps you in its turn-of-the-century arms the moment you see it. Since 1948 this has been the home of Honest Charley’s, the world’s first mail order speed shop. The museum has a large collection of Vintage Cars, Trucks and Motorcycle’s. After a tour of the museum they drove to the Boathouse Rotisserie and Raw Bar for lunch.

Thanks to Roger and Kathy for leading, Thanks to Connie and Les for the photos!

  • November 7th Plateau Corvette Club members took a scenic drive to Lilly Bluff Park and took a short hike to the Beautiful Overlook with full fall colors in bloom. Weather was perfect for a fun drive. They then continued on to Cookeville where they had lunch at Spankies.

Thanks to John and Reggie for a fun drive, Thanks to Kathy and Connie for the great photos.

The Plateau Corvette Club members cruised to Gateway Classic Cars for their monthly “Caffeine & Chrome” Event. Gateway Classics has a large selection of Vintage and Classic cars for sale. After touring the collection they stopped at Hickory Falls Restaurant in Smyrna for lunch then continued their drive along back roads toward home.

Thanks to Roger and Kathy for leading and Bill for the great pictures.

  • Plateau Corvette Club members visited The Beechcraft Heritage Museum, it is a world class aviation museum. With over 78,000 square feet, its exhibits include 38 aircraft from the mid 1920’s to this century along with original art pieces and extensive historical displays of aviation and Beechcraft history. The ride there was along both State Highways and nice back roads – traveling through Sparta, McMinnville and into Tullahoma (no interstate driving!!!) They made a stop at the entrance gate at Arnold Air Force Base near Tullahoma and took a group photo with their vehicles in front of a couple of old fighter jets that are on permanent display outside the entrance to the base. They stopped for lunch at Whiskey Trail BBQ & Steakhouse in Tullahoma, TN. and what would a drive be without an Ice Cream stop in Sparta at Granny’s Soft Serve!

Thanks to Phil and John for planning the trip.

  • Plateau Corvette Club members visited the National Corvette Museum on Monday, October 16th for a tour and to view the new exhibit, “An American Love Affair:  70 Years of Corvette”. They enjoyed lunch as a group at the Sting Ray Grille in the Museum. A little rain did not stop them from a nice drive thru Tennessee and Kentucky back roads to the Museum. It proved one thing ” Corvettes do not melt in the rain!”

Thanks to Roger and Kathy for leading and Bill and Kathy for the great pictures!

  • The club fall picnic was held October 14th at Fred & Cindy’s home. Everyone brought their favorite dish to share with friends. “Every day is a picnic when you’re with friends !”
