The Plateau Corvette Club was invited to attend the Flat Rock Motor Club Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Thursday, October 24 at their new facility in Cumberland County. Upon arrival at Flat Rock, they headed to the Corvette Corral for parking. After the ribbon cutting ceremony, a few members were included in the inaugural parade laps on the new 3 plus mile track. Even better, after the inaugural laps all the Corvette’s lined up for their own private laps!

Plateau Corvette Club members attended a Cruise in at the Putnam County Expo Center to benefit Trooper Adam Cothron who was shot in the line of duty in Cookeville while conducting a traffic stop. Over 300 cars showed up to support Trooper Cothron.
Sunday October 13th Plateau Corvette Club members drove to Knoxville TN to attend the East Tennessee Corvette Club 54th Annual Corvette Show as they celebrate 66 years as a Corvette Club.
After the show, they traveled to the Parkside Grill located in Knoxville, TN for dinner then a nice drive back home.

Plateau Corvette Club had a special guest at our October meeting.
A representative from Flatrock Motorsports Park, Tim Chandler VP of Marketing gave a presentation about the park and provided information about membership, etc. Flatrock Motorsports Park’s is a breathtaking full circuit, almost 6 miles with 34 turns taking full advantage of the unique topography and scale of the park. Their GP configuration is a 2.6 miles circuit including a unique path through the natural amphitheater. Flatrock’s circuits will be the new international benchmark for true motorsports enthusiasts.
Plateau Corvette Club members made their annual Charity donations for 2024 to three different organizations.
First, they made a donation to the Fair Park Senior Center in Crossville.

Plateau Corvette Club have many members from Putnam County, so a donation was made to the Putnam County Schools Student Services: The program takes care of identified homeless students. For students in need the program covers food, clothing, toiletries, bedding, and school supplies. It also assists/covers uninsured or underinsured students with medical, dental and optical needs.

We Are One: is a faith-based organization dedicated to helping children in Cumberland County obtain necessities for their lives. The organization works with other outreach programs to provide items like shoes, backpacks, school supplies, clothing, etc. through events held at various times during the year.

Plateau Corvette Club members attend an Alzheimer’s event held in Algood Tn, after the event club members headed to Marioochi’s Pizza, in Sparta, for lunch.
Plateau Corvette club members were off to conquer some of the rides of the SOUTHERN DOZEN! There’s no better place to leave the daily grind in the dust than roaring around the curves of the Southern Dozen! Surrounded by some of the most breathtaking natural beauty in the country, you’ll find the freedom of exhilaration as you wind through the foothills and mountains of Northeast Tennessee, Southwest Virginia and Western North Carolina.
They also visited the Bristol Motor Speedway and drove 8 HOT laps on the track then visited the Birthplace of Country Music Museum.
September 12 Plateau Corvette Club members participated in the Cumberland County High School Home Coming Parade. Twelve Corvettes were on deck and happy to escort the Homecoming Representatives along the parade route.
The school is known as “The JETS”. A Beautiful “Blue Angel Jet” is on display at the school. Mr. Watson (a former student & lifelong resident of Crossville) was a Blue Angels Jet pilot. Look closely his name is under the window. It was being “Rededicated” Thursday at 4:30. A fresh paint restoration has recently been done on the plane There is also another Jet by the football field, also flown by a female former student of the high school, the 7th ever female jet pilot! Crossville is a great small town!
The day started with a “Get Well” drive past club members, John and Reggie home wishing John a speedy recovery, then club members proceeded to the Fairfield Glade First Baptist Church for the Plateau Alzheimer’s Walk.
Twenty-three Corvettes and at least 2 steel cars participated from our club, about 40 club members. It was a perfect temperature/ weather day and lots of our members won prizes. Not only did we donate, but there were cans by each car for spare change collection, and those donations totaled around $200! Murf and Risa obtained a gift certificate donated by Custard Cabin for the club member who had the most $ in their can- won by Don and Dee. The Alzheimer’s group donated prizes for the 2nd and 3rd place as well, 2nd place Avery and Jennifer, and 3rd place was Les and Kelly. Lunch was at Stonehenge Grill and desert at the Custard Cabin. Overall, an excellent day to be with our corvette friends.
Thursday night August 29 Plateau Corvette Club members had dinner together at Forte’s on the Square, then attended “Grease the Musical ” at the Cumberland County Playhouse.
